Fizi : APDC participates in peace talks between Bafuliru and Babembe tribes

Members of Actions pour la paix et le développement communautaire (APDC) non governmental organisation participated in peace talks that took place at Fizi center on 22nd June 2024. 

These talks were organised by Mapangwa Kabiona, the former chief of Ngandja sector located in the territory of Fizi, South Kivu province, eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The main objective of this meeting that united people of different tribes was to prevent War that risks to explode between the Bafuliru and Babembe tribes. 

As nowadays, tensions are high between the Bafuliru and Babembe tribes over land issues. 

During these talks, Jean Mari Kinyosi Ndonda, advisor in APDC NGO asked people of Fizi to stop discrimination and live peacefully.

" Bafuliru and Babembe people must live in good collaboration as they were living before. Don't accept to be divided by people of bad will. We must stop interethnic discrimination between Bafuliru and Babembe people", he said. 

People from Bafuliru, Banyindu and Babembe tribes participated in these talks.
