APDC NGO sensitizes residents of Ekyokelo on peaceful cohabitation between different tribes

Members of Actions pour la paix et le développement communautaire (APDC) sensitized residents of Ekyokelo on peaceful cohabitation.

The majority of people living in Ekyokelo village are internally displaced people. They fled War opposing the Gumino Twirgwaneho against the Biloze Bishambuke armed groups in the Highlands of Fizi, Uvira and Mwenga.

These displaced people face a lot of problems including lack of food, house objects and medication.

We noticed that there is discrimination between the Bafuliru and Banyindu tribes against the Babembe tribe.

They tend to fight. That is why we organised this sensitization campaign on peaceful cohabitation between different tribes living in the territory of Fizi, so that they can stop discrimination, live in harmony.

Indigenious people and displaced people should help one another.

Our beneficiaries were happy to hear from our sensitization campaign and requested us to continue doing the same job in different locations of eastern DR Congo.

Ekyokelo is a village hosting internally displaced people near Fizi center,in South Kivu province, eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
